.NET - how do I let a web service specify which ports it uses?
I have a web service that will use (say) 80, and I'd like to be able to handle the service "spelling" it's URL into something like:
...and so on.
Is there any straightforward way to do this? I'm thinking of creating a CName look up table in SQL Server that maps "api/something" to "something" and then just do a LINQ query to load my service and pass it the CName. I'd rather not do that if there's something cleaner I'm not thinking of.
